Important Update - Java 8 Release
Posted by Chris Henderson on 21 October 2014 11:06 AM

A new version of Java was released and it now defaults the Security setting to High.  This blocks the screen sharing plugin (and other things you used to use on other sites).

To fix this please see the following:

Windows Users:

Go to Control Panel

  • Click on Java (32-bit)
  • Click on the tab called Security
  • In the Java control panel under the Security tab, click on Edit Site List.
  • Add the InstantPresenter URLs to the list of allowed sites.

In Mac OSX

Go to the Finder

  • Click on Java
  • Click on the tab called Security
  • In the Java control panel under the Security tab, click on Edit Site List.
  • Add the InstantPresenter URLs to the list of allowed sites.

Screen Sharing Issues with Google Chrome on Macs
Posted by Ryan Young on 30 January 2013 03:42 PM

Hello Mac Users,

Our screen sharing application currently requires the use of Java, a common software that allows for a wide variety of online and offline applications to function. However, on OSX, Java requires a 64 bit browser to function for web applications. But since Chrome for Apple's OSX operating system is not 64 bit, screen sharing will not function on this browser.

We recommend using Mozilla's Firefox browser: http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/new

Make sure you have the latest version of Adobe Flash installed too: http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer

We hope this helps!
